Susurration
You are in the smoldering
red singed leaves of an oak tree
you are in the sun glazed
branches of the elegant old beech
you are in the umbrella maple,
arms low and golden like a chandelier
you are in the dying pollen
gently falling in hazy late sunshine
you are the susurrant quiet
of children distantly playing
in the fast fading autumn dusk
