Erosion

Loving you is a Sisyphean

ordeal

A hellhound, never learned to heel.

When did we lapse from flimmering shoals?
Mauve contusions of the simpering coast.

We have drawn in to listen
to the bludgeoned rock; waves cormorant,
your eyes respond, no more, I am dormant.
Clear to sea, the velleity of
vision

Our lives are not myth, and
you erode, borne lighter.
The ridge surmounted, the
Cerberus of my heart gone lame.

What is man without a stone to push?
